Nottingham Union Workhouse - admissions & discharges (1858 - 1867)
This is the second in the series of extant Workhouse Volumes listing the admissions only, together with the births & deaths occurring in the workhouse and covers the period 20 th September 1858 to 21 st July 1860. The first 3 months of this volume duplicate the last 3 months of the previous volume, (November 1856 to December 1858), but have been reproduced as slight differences have been noted between the 2 sets of Registers in these duplicated months. Researchers who find an entry of Interest in this booklet are advised to refer to the original register entry, as there is much information in the register which it is not possible to record in a transcription of this type. It is unfortunate that as the clerks who completed the entries in the registers changed, so the amount of detail recorded either increased or decreased.
