DONCASTER ST GEORGE BURIALS AND MONUMENTAL INSCRIPTIONS (CD-ROM)
A CD containing an alphabetical index to the burial entries, taken from the
parish register of St George. The index covers the entire period of 300 years
from 1557 to 1855 (when burials at the church ceased).
In all there are over 35,000 burials. Many entries give surname, first name,
status, relationship, occupation, date buried, age, abode and any other information
which is entered.
The Monumental Inscriptions were transcribed in 1980 and many of these headstones no longer exist.

The inscriptions from the headstones were transcribed by volunteers around 1985 and have been included on this CD.Stainforth (1885) and Dunscroft (1930) are 'modern' churches that were created out of the parish of Hatfield; they do not have their own burial ground. A council run cemetery opened in Stainforth c1888, entries from those registers are not included on this CD.
