A short course for family historians looking at both the Old Poor Law up to 1834 and the New Poor Law from 1834 to 1928.
Who enforced it? What did it include? How it affect our ancestors - rich or poor?.
Many different types of documents were generated by the enforcement of various laws over the years. These documents can be of great help in tracing the movements of our ancestors before the 1841 census.
